“Southern Comfort” is a video production written and directed by Sam Hensen and brought to you by producers Evagrace Torres, Brittani Smith, Angie Gaffney, Judy Bafaro, and Tim Kelly. We adventure into the world of independent filmmaking and we believe in an expressive and sensorial art that engages and transforms audiences through compelling stories and memorable images and sounds, born from the depths of our hearts. As storytellers, we aim to discover the world around us and the world with in us through the exchange of our own fears, ideas of love, and meaning of life and death. Now that you have met us we hope that you are motivated to contribute to our project. With a goal of $5,000.00, we seek to generate the funds needed to put our film into production. Your contribution, small or large, will help us bring this story to life as well as providing the funds to pay Film Festival related fees. The project will be shot on a RED camera which generates one of the best picture HD quality digital video out in the market (Fun Fact: the movie “Antichrist” was shot on one of these). This guarantees a high production value that enables us as filmmakers and independent artists to create the world of Carl. He is an ex convict in search of peace and the opportunity to reconcile his tormented past with his new found freedom. His kind heart sees the vulnerability in a young girl, Breezy Mayo, which leads to an unlikely friendship.
